  1. With 30 datapoints its no big deal, but I have looking at lots of stuff here and when there is years of data on a graph, it gets pretty cluttered and difficult to see where you are in relation to the road. Only relevant for relatively long term goals or recording I guess, but some that have been around a while are tough to see.

Working on this! And we should emphasize that the specific problem is now solved (see x-min etc in graph settings) but it will be much nicer when you can just pan and zoom visually.

  2. It's already been brought up that an option to schedule flat or altered rate days would help with planning vacations and weekends off.

In the meantime, here's an idea:
    - Give us an option in the "advanced" tab that allows us to specify something like "[ ] This is a weekday-only goal" OR
    - This goal applies only on [ ] Mon, [ ] Tues, [ ] Wed......

    • Then either:

    a) have two sets of numbers that show our minimum to the bottom, centre, top of the road, and make the second set reflect... (below) OR
    b) replace the current…

  5. Could there be folders for certain goals so I can keep them all straight? I'd like a "Health" folder where I could log workouts, odometer readings, macronutrients splits eaten over the week, etc. A "Study" folder to keep track of the time spent on school, and a "Hobbies" folder so I could track things like time spent on reading outside of class, practicing an instrument, or time spent other self improvement goals.

“Started” may be an exaggeration but this no longer seems hard and is bubbling to the top of the list of priorities…

Rough sketch of the plan: Put the countdown to next derailment next to or in place of the “bob is minding” heading, which avoids the problem of someone accidentally burying an eep goal. And then kill frontburner/backburnering. And then add tags and sorting by whatever you like — tag, time-to-derailment, pledge, goalname. For tags you could specify in the url, like bmndr.com/bob/tag/foo (same as the blog).

  6. Khan Academy has an odometer value called "Activity Points".

    Allow automatic integration with that.

    API:

    Point: http://api-explorer.khanacademy.org/, under /api/v1/user - points

    Seconds watched: http://api-explorer.khanacademy.org/, under /api/v1/user - totalsecondswatched

    Proficient Exercises: http://api-explorer.khanacademy.org/, under /api/v1/user - count of proficient_exercises

  9. Like each datapoint, pink line, maybe the CL of your road - just date & value as you did on the data. On the graph I don't need to know how I entered it, but it would be good to take the guess out of where is the center of my YBR.

    That’s a really good idea!

(The way we’re generating the graph images currently makes that easier said than done, so this might be a while, but we agree it’s worth doing.)

  11. Right now if you go to http://beeminder.com as a logged in user you still see the standard landing page with sign-up/login calls to action. IMO It would be much better if a logged in user was redirected to their dashboard.

  12. When the BeeBot queries me it asks for a reply in the form of goalname dayofmonth datapoint. It seems to make sense that the default reply should simply be: datapoint. In this case the default value for goalname would be the goal that triggered the BeeBot query, and the default value for dayofmonth would be today.

  15. My work and goal are both tracked under the same RescueTime category (Design & Composition). I want to increase my writing time, not track my work (I get my work done). The only way to get the data I need is via the subcategory :(

  16. I want to make sure I'm reading a certain number of pages a week, but I don't want to double-enter my data (I know I won't actually do it), especially since GoodReads just needs 'what page are you on?' whereas 'how many pages did you read today?' requires math. I'd love to have my GoodReads data show up here!

  17. So I don't have to use the back button or go back to "my gallery" could you put a link to all of my other goals on on each graph page. That way I could get to any other goal each time I went to a specific goal page - hope that made sense.

  18. Get some sort of visual feedback when you have an unbroken chain of daily data entries.

If you break the chain the indication is removed and the graph reverts to standard layout. This way the feature would function as an extra layer of motivation via gamification.

The feedback could consist of a band of color and/or a text-box with number of days with unbroken chain.

Sharing is pretty huge, but can you say what exactly you mean by “a secure way”? Do you need a way to guarantee that only specific people see your graph, and that those people would have to have beeminder accounts themselves (to ensure you’re sharing with only those you intend)? If you just give the URL of your graph to those you want to share your goal with, that may be the best of all worlds, unless you’re super paranoid about the URL falling into the wrong hands. That’s our own philosophy, anyway. Others may have different privacy needs so we’re eager to hear more feedback on this.
