  2. It is vital, in order to track a goal that is worked on through different mediums/platforms, to have the transparency at a sub-category level within the fixed categories built in Rescue time.
I feel it is within your interest to have this in Beeminder.
I'm currently struggling to set a pledge on my abs goal, simply because I use 2 apps to set my daily trainings.
Rescue Time and Beeminder are the perfect combination! Really!!! I don't even want to think of the poor alternative of manual input!

Hope you can make it happen!

  3. I was on Duolingo this morning (at about 8:30 EST). Duolingo updated Beeminder automatically at 9:31 (not sure time zone). At 9:40am EST I get a reminder email to go to Duolingo, which tells me in the body of the message that I already hit my target today. Could the reminders only send out if data hasn't already happened, especially for the automatic trackers like Duolingo? I like the reminder, but a reminder so soon after hitting target is just junk mail.

  4. 1)Having write-protected comments would allow for a more robust hackery, such as an improved Must-Do list.

2)Being allowed to attach arbitrary data to a goal would allow for even more interesting hackery.

  5. Have an option to leave the screen on if the timer is on. Consider making this dependent on being plugged into power.

  6. When linking to goals, it could be useful to have an "AND" operator for choosing when to send a ping to a goal.

  7. I started a new goal yesterday and didn't realize that I needed to set it up from the partner apps in Fitbit until after I got it set up. Now I cannot see a way to change it.

  8. You can still type the route in and get the page, so it seems pretty harmless. Loving the recent ui updates, though :)

  9. Send daily mail or mobile notification with info about the increases in goals data and the time left until derailment.
This will be great for keeping up with progress and focusing goals with imminent deadlines.

  10. Right now, after I make an entry for the preceding day (e.g. I might have forgotten to copy the # from Habit RPG to Beeminder), I have to e-mail support@beeminder.com. After they fix the graph, I don't find out about the change until I read all my e-mail, which might not happen until several days later. By then, I will be derailed again and the entire misadventure will go on forever.

Since Beeminder already has a mobile application, it would be really helpful if the mobile software notified me when support has touched the goal. I realize that by…

  11. For do less goals, the key metric is how many more bad things you can do before derailing. The natural way to implement zeno polling here is by distance, not by deadline time. That is, if you have 10 cigarettes of headroom in the morning, you should be Zeno polled when 5 are recorded, then again at 7.5, 8.25 and so on.

  12. I have a goal with a specified date and weekly rate. If I retro-ratchet, my goal date changes. Better behavior would be to keep the goal date fixed, and just increase the goal value. Right now I'm trying to retroratchet but my goal date keeps changing, which is super frustrating.

  13. I just spent a few minutes figuring out when I need to start working on each goal (in the worst case where I haven't added any more to it than was needed to not derail yesterday). I needed to find some dead time for a new goal.

I suggest you add a table somewhere that shows all of a user's goals, their deadlines, the last possible time to start on them, and any "free time". This would only work for time based goals, of course. It'd make it easier to set up waterfalls, which are a good idea that is…

  14. When a title changed on goals, it is not reflected in either the email reminders nor the goal URL. Confusing.
This also means the Dashboard and Gallery show two different sets of goals - the Gallery is the latest / correct set.

  16. I want to track my morning routine and cleaning routines. Apps like Brili and Routinery help with that but I don’t always use them. Beeminder would give me the accountability I need.

  17. A few days might be OK, but definitely not two weeks. It can be silly, especially when the polynomial is high-order: see e.g. https://www.beeminder.com/army1987/goals/weight -- I don't think I'm gonna weigh 92 kilos by the 28th, not even taking the Christmas holidays into account...

  18. I blindly entered my data for 1st March as "29 xxx" following on from the 28th Feb data in the row above. It seems like you ought to be able to catch that mistake for me?

  19. Email settings for Backburnered/completed/failed goals should appear in a section at the bottom of the page.

Or else, perhaps active goals should be highlighted in some way whether by order or colour or something else.
