  1. On the goal page, add some sort of indicator to make it understood whether the "Until derailment" time is until you LOSE or until you COMPLETE the goal.

This becomes a problem sometimes if you're trying to build a buffer on a 'do more' goal and every day the buffer gets smaller because you forgot that your completion date is closer than the buffer time.

  3. When creating a goal, I entered a unit. Now I want to use the "rescale" feature, and I'd like to also change the unit. I could not find such an option anywhere in the settings. (Or is the Y-axis label - which can be changed - the only place this is really used?)

  4. Recently I had to reset my "meditation" goal, because I drove off the road. My yearly goal was to do 12 minutes every day, which means at the beginning of the year it was easy to set at 4380 as the goal for 2013-01-01. Since I had to reset the goal though, I had to reset it based on a weekly amount instead of my actual goal amount, since setting the total as 4380 would mean I'm actually overshooting by 100+ minutes.

  5. Sorry, but couldn't find the instructions I needed anywhere. Had to discover by trial and error. The Overview and articles were not enough. Thanks for considering.

  7. I'm noticing that, after I derail, my road width gets larger than I would like it to be. For example, I had a graph with a 120pt road width (+60 and -60). I got into the wrong lane and then derailed pretty hard the next day. Between my wrong lane value on the one day and the value that caused me to derail on the next day, my datapoint was +179 from my centre line. When I rerailed my goal, the road width became 358 (+ and - 179 from the centre). This means I can now screw up, DAILY,…

  8. Some goals should not be allowed to enter more than 1 point/day (i.e. the graph can't increase by more than a value of 1 per day). Otherwise, I can "stack" a lot of points in one day to get really ahead of the yellow brick road, and then slack off for many days. I would be missing out on creating a daily habit by just "cramming" at the end. I've had to amend many of my goals to add a "no stacking" clause for this reason but it would be nice if that type of goal was supported out of…

  9. When you start a new goal you should get the option to set your goal end date and total goal amount. It is possible to do this, but it should be extremly easy to do.

  10. In some goals each unit is indivisible, and doesn't make sense for the bare min numbers to display a floating point number. It would be more intuitive for them to show a round number.

  11. 1)Having write-protected comments would allow for a more robust hackery, such as an improved Must-Do list.

2)Being allowed to attach arbitrary data to a goal would allow for even more interesting hackery.

  12. Allow me to give you, say, $100 which you hold in escrow. Every time I enter a good "green" data point in Beeminder, there's a X% chance that I'll get a $Y reward from my escrow account back into my bank account. (Where X and Y should be some combination of "user selected" and "random".)

    Thus, intermittent reinforcement is achieved.

  13. If I'm deleting a goal and I have a week of safety buffer, I should be able to delete it immediately. I wouldn't have to enter anything for the next week anyway without derailing, so it's just taking up space and irritating me without forcing me to do anything for another week.

  14. Send daily mail or mobile notification with info about the increases in goals data and the time left until derailment.
This will be great for keeping up with progress and focusing goals with imminent deadlines.

  15. Right now, after I make an entry for the preceding day (e.g. I might have forgotten to copy the # from Habit RPG to Beeminder), I have to e-mail support@beeminder.com. After they fix the graph, I don't find out about the change until I read all my e-mail, which might not happen until several days later. By then, I will be derailed again and the entire misadventure will go on forever.

Since Beeminder already has a mobile application, it would be really helpful if the mobile software notified me when support has touched the goal. I realize that by…

  16. Putative bug: The Expiration month on the add payment form defaults to the current month.

Expected behaviour: The month should default to 1, as is the case with 99.31416% of other sites' forms. It is odd to have to consider what the current month is and so which direction to arrow up or down to, especially since the current month is not visibly related to likely expiration month.

  18. On my iPhone, whether in the goal listing view or when viewing any one goal, every graph appears identically as it did from the moment of goal creation over two weeks ago. =-(

  19. A few days might be OK, but definitely not two weeks. It can be silly, especially when the polynomial is high-order: see e.g. https://www.beeminder.com/army1987/goals/weight -- I don't think I'm gonna weigh 92 kilos by the 28th, not even taking the Christmas holidays into account...

  20. When I view a goal on the webapp the green/blue/(maybe other colours if I'm bad?) "time left" box is just a solid field devoid of text, until I add data, at which point it populates with the text of the countdown, briefly showing the pre-addition-of-data-time and then immediately updating to the post-addition time.

I presume this is a bug. The expected behaviour would be to show the countdown on initial page render even before any action is taken on the page.
