  1. In some goals each unit is indivisible, and doesn't make sense for the bare min numbers to display a floating point number. It would be more intuitive for them to show a round number.

  2. On the goal page, add some sort of indicator to make it understood whether the "Until derailment" time is until you LOSE or until you COMPLETE the goal.

This becomes a problem sometimes if you're trying to build a buffer on a 'do more' goal and every day the buffer gets smaller because you forgot that your completion date is closer than the buffer time.

  3. Currently, archiving a goal triggers an 'are you sure?' modal box, and that's it. What if there was an optional feedback prompt after archiving that asked why you were archiving the goal? I'm thinking of radio buttons: 'I completed this goal', 'I'm not interested anymore', 'Other', and a text box.

This is valuable information for you guys. I recently archived three goals that led to me landing an awesome job, and I'd like for my success to correlate to my Beeminding.

  4. It would be nice if I could write "+45 " in front of my phone numbers to indicate that it is a Danish number. At the moment, the '+' gets eaten by the validation code so the there is an extra '45' there.

I get that you may not want to send SMS'es outside of the US (or North America), but it would still be nice if the phone number could be entered correctly.

  6. Right now, if I ask LastPass to autofill my credit card info, it doesn't put in my card number or anything like that. Maybe if you add "for=" to the "Card number", "CVC" and "expiration" fields or add ID's with relevant text?

  7. But for me it seems to be reporting the second-to-last entry in the view just above the data entry box. It seems logical/necessary to me that it report the last entry so that I know immediately whether I already input "today" entry or not without having to actually load the graph.

  8. When you start a new goal you should get the option to set your goal end date and total goal amount. It is possible to do this, but it should be extremly easy to do.

  9. When entering multiple submissions to a single goal in the android app, occasionally the chart will refresh while I'm typing the comment for the next submission. After the refresh, the comment is lost. It would be good to preserve any values before refreshing all of the screen elements.

  10. I am almost completely unable to distinguish between the green and the orange dots on the graphs (although seeing their position relative to the yellow road is usually sufficient). The yellow and blue dots are fine.

Quotes from "Creating Maps for Color Blind People":

"Avoid using red and green together as this is the most common combination that the color blind cannot distinguish."

"Some good color combinations are: blues and yellows; magenta-violet and yellow-reds; blue, green, yellow sequences; and for diverging data where the mid values and extremes are both important, red, orange, yellow, light blue and dark blue (center…

  11. Right now it would appear RescueTime goals are limited to either singular sites or entire categories.

It would be useful more if if you had either:
    1. Subcategories (the high level categories are simply too broad in Rescuetime)
    or
    2. Multiple sites, e.g. XYZ.com and ABC.com

  12. In particular:
    line type: steppy&rosy&none
    turquoise swath
    moving average

The description could be a tooltip on the advanced page

  13. The quote marks my phone makes aren't valid, currently, for including a note with my data-- data entry has to be in the format
    Goal date datapoint "notes"

But my phone can't make the straight double quote marks which are recognized by the beeminder computer; when I try to use the quotation marks available on my phone, I get, "We didn't understand this row".

I want to be able to include notes when adding data as a text from my phone.

  14. I didn't know what rate I should set for a few of my goals, so I set a low rate and started tracking my behavior. Now, I'd like to maintain my behavior, and then eventually increase my behavior. To maintain my behavior, I'd like to be able to automatically set my weekly rate to the historical rate.

Agreed! I personally have the same problem and am quite motivated to fix this. Our planned “generalized road dial” may be part of the solution to this. http://expost.padm.us/dial

In the meantime, you can hit Retroratchet and then figure out manually what your historical rate has been. Not ideal, obviously, but does work.

  15. The iOS application uses more data than any of my other apps, except for the App Store! I don't even use it very much, as the email interface is convenient for entering data. Perhaps instead of using server-side image generation for the graphs, they could be generated locally to save data usage.

  17. For example, I would like my regular bot reminder to be at 9:30pm, but if it's an emergency day, I want to know at 9:30AM!

  18. Some goals should not be allowed to enter more than 1 point/day (i.e. the graph can't increase by more than a value of 1 per day). Otherwise, I can "stack" a lot of points in one day to get really ahead of the yellow brick road, and then slack off for many days. I would be missing out on creating a daily habit by just "cramming" at the end. I've had to amend many of my goals to add a "no stacking" clause for this reason but it would be nice if that type of goal was supported out of…

  19. I'm using the "suggestions" feature of UserVoice to submit bugs. It would be nice (and I believe UserVoice makes this available) to have a different tab for suggestions, bugs, etc. That way, users can easily submit bugs or feature requests from one place.

  20. It's taking sometimes a good minute or more to re-draw a graph after adding data. This is quite annoying, as part of the joys of using Beeminder is the immediate feedback of seeing your progress.
