My use case: I already know how many days left I have (because of the color), what I don't know is how much I need to do (which is the thing I want to be able to pick up at a glance).

Like for one particular goal, I have it set to 8/week, so the one day a week where I have to do it twice tends to come as a bit of a surprise. And there's a big difference between having to run half a mile and having to run two.
