Let me define my own official end of the day
Currently your graph refreshes at or soon after 3am in the time zone you specify in My Account.
Some people want their day to officially end at, say, 4am, or some upper bound on when they might go to bed. So a graph refresh at 3am might be premature. (This only would matter if it's an "emergency" day where you're in the red and about to be officially off your yellow brick road at the end of the day.)
Other people want the opposite. To quote one user:
one problem I've had is I often leave my tasks to the last moment in the day and
then I am either too tired to do them properly or end up staying up too late.
[...] it would be neat if you could specify the time the task needs to be done by so
it says something like "You will lose if not on the yellow brick road by 5pm
today"
So the suggestion is to let the official end of the day be a per-goal setting.

I agree. For instance, I'm horrible at getting to work on time so I made a beeminder goal of being to work on time. But my shift doesn't start at midnight, it starts in the morning. If I'm late in the morning there's no way for me to reverse my lateness. And another one of my goals is getting to bed at a reasonable hour (see the relation?); midnight isn't a reasonable hour for me.

I'd like this to be separate from my account's timezone — I don't want to have to do the mental math for when I *really* want my reminder texts, I just want to move the "new day's start" from midnight to same later time.

@Tarn, I agree that this should be a per-goal setting. One thing I'm worried about is that it may hard to keep straight which goals have which deadlines. Zeno polling might be a good solution to that. http://blog.beeminder.com/zeno

Unfortunately, that makes one time apply to all your goals, whereas for me, the value is in making different goals apply to different times - my sleep -promoting goals separate from my work-promoting goals, for example

You can also hack this by changing your time zone. For instance, since I live on the east coast if I just set my beeminder timezone to pacific time I can change when my graph refreshes.
