We have a crude zoom in advanced settings now, and you can now choose whether to keep old data or start fresh when you rerail.

I'm glad this improvement is on the way. I reset for the first time today and miss seeing past data.

@jamuraa, I now agree with you. We're working on various improvements to the historical view...

I'm not really happy with how this works now (although give me a day or so to have the "historical" graph fill on my first reset goal), because I'm still losing the whole graph in the main view whenever I reset. This might be something where it's just a personal preference, but I would prefer to see the whole graph since the start of time (or be able to choose the start date shown), with the reset "warts and all".

@jamuraa, in your case you've got http://beeminder.com/jamuraa/whist showing your entire history even if you restart your main weight graph. Of course that's a hack we've enabled on the back end but it will be available to all before too long. And certainly anyone can request the hack for their graph in the meantime if that's what's holding you back from restarting! (support@beeminder.com)

Yea, this is a huge thing. I'm currently not logging on jamuraa/weight because I don't want to lose the great progress that I've shown since the beginning of the year.
