My use case: I already know how many days left I have (because of the color), what I don't know is how much I need to do (which is the thing I want to be able to pick up at a glance).

Like for one particular goal, I have it set to 8/week, so the one day a week where I have to do it twice tends to come as a bit of a surprise. And there's a big difference between having to run half a mile…

  3. Just like we can with our datapoints, being able to export the average would be nice as a lot of people consider it the "true" value of e.g. their weight

  4. There currently only appears to be a total net calories through FitBit. I track my food intake there, but not activity since my Fitbit flex broke. Or at least have some calorie-counting site that can be integrated.

  5. I signed up for several goal management sites to see which one suited my needs best. I've chosen a different site for its journalling focus, but I can't seem to find where I delete this account? I hate cyber-clutter!

  9. wordpress.com blogs can't have iframes and I imagine that isn't the only place on the web. Would be nice to have the code provided that does basically (which is what I did for my blog post: http://blog.wraithan.net/2015/01/13/beeminding-zenircbot-3-0/ )

Even better would be if the url took parameters to tell it the size of graph to make (with obvious limits) so I can make a widget that fits nicely in a side bar of any width. Or make them a bit smaller to have two side by side in a post without making…

  11. Currently zapier integration allows me to feed a goal with data from other service. However, I would like to use beeminder as a trigger for something else. Possible uses: I keep a diary with beeminder and when I log sometihing new in my "daily goal" I wouldl like to let idonethis now, or update a database with a value, etc. Also, another use of this is to get a productivity buddy: when my buddy inputs new data to beeminder, I can get instantly notified so I can check in and actually see if he is lying or weasling.

  13. You've got "Add a credit card" up there. Yeah good. GOOD FOR YOU! As a business you've totally forgotten WIIFM (what's in it for me). I will probably NEVER give you a credit card, because... I sense you care about your interests before mine. Try to wine and dine me before you try to fuck me.

  15. Currently, even if the user doesn't revoke an application (I know, because it's my app and I didn't revoke me!) every so often (months probably) the OAuth2 access token stops working. Now, given the OAuth2 spec, access tokens are generally meant to have a finite lifespan, but that's why we've usually got a refresh token, which can then be used to generate new access tokens, but the OAuth2 for Beeminder doesn't seem to supply those...

I'd really like apps to just keep working once a user authorises them, unless they explicitly remove them. Having tokens just die with no user…

  16. When I view a goal on the webapp the green/blue/(maybe other colours if I'm bad?) "time left" box is just a solid field devoid of text, until I add data, at which point it populates with the text of the countdown, briefly showing the pre-addition-of-data-time and then immediately updating to the post-addition time.

I presume this is a bug. The expected behaviour would be to show the countdown on initial page render even before any action is taken on the page.

  17. I'm measuring how many hours of sleep I get, and I have set a goal rate of 53/week. I'd like to increase my target rate since I am always above the road. But since I can't see how many hours of sleep I am currently getting in a week, it's harder to calibrate my goal rate to an ambitious but realistic level.

Showing actual rates would allow users to compare their performance with their goal more easily.

  19. I've tried adding an initial credit card on Chrome, IE, and Firefox without success. The form hits your server and then refreshes the form ab initio, i.e. resetting all fields to their defaults/blank. Importantly, it displays no error message.
