retroratchet: let user specify how many safe days to keep
Retroratcheting down to 2 days of saftey buffer is almost never what I want to do. Please let the user specify how many safe days to keep when retroratcheting.

Allow me to instantly increase goals on do-more goals without waiting for the akrasia horizon
Sometimes I want to make a goal harder and not give myself a week of buffer. Today, if I want to increase the goal amount on a "do-more" goal it won't show the increase in steepness until a week from today after the akrasia horizon. I understand not being able to make goals easier before that date, but if I want to make it harder - especially if I have tons of buffer space, then I think this should be ok. Thanks
1 voteWe’ve improved the retroratchet algorithm, so the problem you mentioned in the solution you mentioned in the comment you mentioned below the idea you mentioned is fixed now.
Yay twisty sentences :D

set end date on goal
My goal is to save $3000 in 3 months. There is not goal category for "Save Money" so I chose the only one that seemed compatible - "Do More". When I set a goal using the Do More category it automatically makes a one year goal and automatically sets the points needed to 12,768 (?!). Why can't I set the end date for 3 months from now and why can't I make the points needed match dollars saved? The interface throughout Beeminder is baffling.

Have the current total displayed numerically somewhere as well as on the graph axis.
Right now the only way to see the total on graphs like "Do more" is to look at the axis, which for big graphs can be a little tricky to get precise numbers. It would be nice to be able to see this as a number somewhere, for things like sanity checks (and bragging rights!)

Integrate with Foursquare (or other Geolocation apps)
For people who already use Foursquare, this would make Beeminder wholly subsume the functionality of GymPact. It could also support more general goals like "socialize more".
Personally, I'd be more excited about Placeme or Geoloqi integration (or maybe Google Latitude or something could do this too) where you don't have to explicitly check in like on Foursquare.
13 votesWe now have this, thanks to Zapier! http://zpr.io/qqUK (Let us know if there’s any way in which this falls short of a Foursquare/Swarm-specific integration or any ways that it’s confusing to set up.)

allow tracking of Fitbit Calorie Deficit
As weight loss/gain ultimately happens if there is a calorie surplus/deficit over the long run, I'd really like to integrate with the Fitbit Foodplan goal.
Specifically, I want to have a goal so I can specify that I want to have a deficit of x calories per day.
If I track my consumed calories with fitbit, my daily score is (calories consumed) - (calories burned).
If I do not track my consumed calories with fitbit, my daily score is 0.6 votesLet us know if this doesn’t work the way you’d like. (And sorry it took us forever to mark this done! We did it last January… https://twitter.com/beemuvi/status/421431574907731969 )

Feature request: be able to hide certain lines on the graph
For instance, if I click "rose colored dots" on the legend, it hides that line from appearing on my graph. I don't really care about seeing that line, so it would be nice if I could just turn it off.

Allow users to unarchive archived goals
Maybe it's just a documentation issue, but I can't figure out how to bring back archived goals, or interact with them in any way. Are they actually deleted?
3 votesWe’ve got an Archived Goals page now, listing all your archived goals and making it easy to do this!

Beeminder as a Zapier service
I've been using Zapier a lot lately, and it's a quick and easy way to integrate with services. Although Beeminder native integrations work perfectly, it would be great to be able to connect it with the 200+ services available on Zapier.

Bug: email settings change upon goal add
I'm pretty sure that if you "stop all email (except legitimacy links)" via the link at the bottom of emails it works as described, until you add (a) new goal(s), when the setting is undone and emails are sent (by default behaviour) for the new goal(s).
This should be easy to replicate. In addition, a way to activate this feature from email settings would be great.

Post (and link to) a glossary
Beeminder uses a number of neologisms and uncommon words, and it would be handy and helpful if they were defined somewhere that was easy to find. This would be especially helpful for newbies but probably occasionally useful for more experienced users as well.
A few examples:
- yellow brick road (partly explained in graph legend, but the basic concept is not described there)
- akrasia horizon
- akrasia, for that matter
- derail/rerail (see below)Actual case in point (perhaps this should be a support email but I'll leave it here for now): Right now, my "time until derailment" readout…

Integrate with Twitter
Specify a Twitter handle (which need not be one you own) and optionally a hashtag. Every time a tweet is tweeted from the given Twitter handle with the given hashtag, add 1 to your Beeminder graph (with the tweet text as the Beeminder comment).
Since a lot of services have auto-tweet functionality, you can then trivially beemind any of them.

Allow the deletion of new goals
I find that sometimes I have what I think is a great idea for a goal. So I create it, and get going. And within a day, or maybe two, it becomes clear that the goal is poorly thought out.
At the moment, there's nothing I can do about it! My current approach is to enter some dummy "safe" (enough so I wont derail in a week), mark the goal for archival, and then send it to the bottom of my goals screen. And then I have to wait 7 days for it to vanish. In the mean time I…

Generalize GmailZero to count any of a set of labels, not just "Inbox"
This would be especially valuable for me in that my Gmail Snooze program -- http://messymatters.com/snooze -- lets me weasel too much on my GmailZero goal. I want to mind the total number of messages in my inbox or snoozed to reappear in my inbox.

Integrate with Jawbone UP
This one seems to be taking off. They just bought BodyMedia.
I think Omron is the most popular pedometer of all but I don't think those pedometers upload their data.

Allow comments in iPhone app
At the moment, the iPhone app does not allow you to add a comment along with your data. I use comments for various things, and they are very important to the goal. For these goals, I have to use the web interface. (Which is awkward, because for some of them, I am not near a computer, by nature of the goal.) It would be handy if the iPhone app allowed me to enter comments along with my data.
