sync beeminder with a timer app so that people can beemind time-tracking goals, like studying or meditating
It would be fantastic if beeminder linked up to a simple timer app so that it could track goals such as
- study for 2 hours a day
- meditate for 10 minutes a day
- run for 20 minutes a day
I think this would be excellent and so useful for us students!
Now built in to the Android app! We’ll let people who want this but don’t have an Android device create a new suggestion. There is already a suggestion to integrate with Toggl and we encourage people to add other such apps as suggested integrations.

Integration with Harvest Time Management software would also be great for freelancers tracking the time they spend on projects or tasks!

On the desktop, I have this working with a pomodoro app (this one: https://github.com/ugol/pomodoro), which can trigger an applescript when the timer ends. I have it run the beeminder shell command and then bam happy days.
But when I am away from the computer it would be great to have an ios timer that auto-updates to beeminder.

That would be really awesome. The bookmarklet timer app works nicely on the desktop, but I miss something similar on my Android. For now, I got Tasker doing a POST request to the Beeminder API and that works well, but I miss a good timer app with Tasker integration.

I made a quick mockup of what I think would be helpful:

@richarmstrong created a really useful bookmarklet timer app that works on a Beeminder goal page. He only ever publicised it in his twitter feed (as far as I can tell), so I summarised it here: http://ladyalys.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/beeminder-bookmarklet-for-tracking.html

The Beeminder Android app will soon have data entry methods and integration with other apps to make this possible.

My vote is for integration with Harvest!

The recently-added RescueTime integration might help with this, insofar as the things you want to track are apps on a computer or android phone (or can be proxied that way.)

I did this and it is awesome. There is an iOS timetracking app called Eternity (with a free version) that can export logs to Dropbox. I wrote a script which takes the logs and uploads events with the same names as your goals to the beeminder API.

Great point! We do integrate with a ridiculously nerdy time tracker -- http://messymatters.com/tagtime -- which is how we track things like our own time spent working on beeminder -- http://beeminder.com/d/meta and http://beeminder.com/b/meta -- but we should also integrate with a normal timer app.
