  2. Right now it would appear RescueTime goals are limited to either singular sites or entire categories.

It would be useful more if if you had either:
    1. Subcategories (the high level categories are simply too broad in Rescuetime)
    or
    2. Multiple sites, e.g. XYZ.com and ABC.com

  4. Disclaimer: Correct me if I’m wrong on any of the points.
Currently when creating a break on the road Beeminder sets the steepness for the scheduled days to 0.
Furthermore, it reduces the total amount of units until goal completion.

    Example:
Let’s pretend you want to devote 10 hours per week to furthering your knowledge. So you set the road steepness to that value.
Later you think that you want to take the weekends off and only learn during the workdays. So you create breaks for the weekends.
Beeminder now practically substracted the two days of the weekend from the…

  5. This I guess, would increase the commitment from the user if he knows that his money is at stake. Also it would feel like a real cash reward when he accomplishes a goal.

If he doesn't complete a goal as per plan, or if he even "derailed from the road", a chunk of the stake money goes to Beeminder.

Also, you guys could collect a flat fee of say 5 USD per goal, even if the user completes the entire goal. I would be happy to pay you that because your system allows me to be a better person. And…

  6. Day One is a hugely popular iOS/Mac journaling app... would love for Beeminder to track whether I am journaling every day.

Alternatively, any super easy journal app tracking. I suppose I could keep my journal in Draft, but I track that for other writing!

  7. I would love it if you could track words written and/or edited in Google Drive, as you can Draft.

  9. By intergrating with toodledo you would be intergrating with a variety of apps that sync with the task management website. Would be great if a goal is update automatically when a repeating or one time task is checked off in toodledo. With a detailed setup a trigger would be a task by folder, context or tag.

  10. Withings (maker of the already integrated scale) makes an activity tracker. It would be nice to have this automatically update step data similar to the FitBit system on Beeminder. I am posting this even though there is already a post on the Pulse sleep tracking since I see those as two separate items. Activity is more important to me than sleep tracking.

  11. It would be nice to have my graph automatically published on Facebook each time it is updated.

Currently, I'm posting my weight on Facebook directly from my Withings scale. However, this only posts the current weight. I'd like it to link back to a graph, so the number is more easily interpreted.

Additionally, it might be nice if it would be possible to change what exactly is posted. For a weight graph for example, it might be nice to post the value of the purple line instead.

The desired behavior is to first allow the % character in slugs, and then to percent-encode previously disallowed input. (Modern browsers can display such percent encodings as the proper characters)

  13. I have my trello lists separated by category (Home, Work, Errands, etc.) and it would be great to hook up beeminder to my trello account. I don't want a goal for each list though. I just want one goal that follows all the lists.

  14. Have an optional main page with a tabular summary of all your goals. Maybe the columns could include; Goal Name, Days to Derail, Pledge Amount. This would be especially handy for those with a lot of goals.

  15. When one has various beeminder goals, and additional "meta-motivation" can exist by having in your goals page a counter of "how many days have you been on your road without derailing from all your active goals". In other words, It would be a great motivation to have some kind of informational display that tells me how many days ago was my last beeminder sting from any active goal. I think seeing this number increase would help reduce slacking off and stuff.

  16. Assume someone does not want to make progress on work-related goals on Sunday.

Current approach: Let that person build up a buffer from Monday to Saturday.

Problem: True akrasians won't do this. On Monday to Saturday, they will just make enough progress every day to not derail. So the lack of flat sections in the slope (if they are not manually inserted 7 days in advance) encourages truly acratic users to work every day.

One possible solution: Add an option to make the slope flat on selected days of the week.

  17. I'd find it useful to be able to enter a data point in multiplication format without having to do the sums myself.

I have a goal to finish knitting projects by keeping track of rows. Since how much effort a row of knitting takes varies wildly between projects I have to adjust the road for each project or stage of project. If I could easily input e.g. "8112" or "2723" it would be easy to track stitches knitted instead to keep track of progress.

I think it would generalise to more than just knitting! Repetitive exercises for example.

  18. I am almost completely unable to distinguish between the green and the orange dots on the graphs (although seeing their position relative to the yellow road is usually sufficient). The yellow and blue dots are fine.

Quotes from "Creating Maps for Color Blind People":

"Avoid using red and green together as this is the most common combination that the color blind cannot distinguish."

"Some good color combinations are: blues and yellows; magenta-violet and yellow-reds; blue, green, yellow sequences; and for diverging data where the mid values and extremes are both important, red, orange, yellow, light blue and dark blue (center…

  19. I'm not sure if "scrollable" is the right word but.. I like to look over all my goals, one-by-one, at least once a day. It would be great if I could open the first one and then just click "next" and it would take me to my next goal. this would save me a trip of going back to my homepage, trying to remember which goal I just came from and then proceeding to the next goal.

  20. Since the Withings scale is already supported and FitBit sleep data as well, I think it would be cool to get the sleep data out of Withings.
