  1. This would be valuable in putting the focus on (finally) handling all those older emails - the ones being postponed for too long - that linger in the inbox.

Another option - which would perhaps be easier to implement - would be to calculate the average age of the remaining emails in the inbox.

  2. I just had my first renew on the premium plan, but I had forgotten about it, and was surprised when I checked my bank statement. It would be nice to have been emailed to remind me that I'm renewing and give me a receipt for the transaction. I'd also like emailed receipts when I reset my graph and pay the fine.

  4. In noisy goals, when the latest data point is on or beyond the good side of the road, the border of the graph in the gallery is shown as blue or green, which is supposed to indicate that no matter how bad the next data point will be I won't derail -- but IIRC that's only the case if the data points are on consecutive days. Therefore, I suggest that a noisy goal with no data point for yesterday be shown as orange, to indicate that a sufficiently bad data point today would make me derail.

  5. The visibility of a graph should be independently configurable regardless of the success status of a goal. At the moment, you have to reset the goal for the settings panel to become visible, which is the only place where this setting can be changed.

  7. It's difficult to find where this is (some users don't know it exists: http://beeminder.uservoice.com/forums/3011-general/suggestions/3675852-have-the-goal-description-on-the-goal-page). Why not make it a subtitle in a larger font below the goal name? This usually conveys more useful info than the goal name, if it exists.

  8. I have many goals tracking the amount of time I spend on a certain task or activity. It's super great that I can enter data in h:mm or m:ss format, but I'd like to be able to see my entered data and "bare min" counters in that format as well. For example, right now the goal page might say something like +0.66 to get back on the road; I have to open up a calculator and multiply by 60 to see that means 40 minutes. I want beeminder to do this multiplication for me. =)

    The idea would be to…

  9. The user is able to use 'start fresh' when continuing completed pledgeless goals or restarting archived goals, but apparently not when continuing successfully completed pledge goals.

The 'start fresh' option should be available for all completed goals.

  10. I just caught myself adding a data point and returning to my dashboard, only to be unsure of which graph I just added a data point to! In fact, over the period of a day, it can be hard to know which goals I have been working on.

  11. I have three contexts in which I work. Work, open source, and personal. These three contexts have separate Gmail inboxes, separate Trello accounts, etc, etc. At the moment, I am also using multiple Beeminder accounts to set goals.

I imagine there are other use cases for wanting separate Beeminder contexts.

It would be handy if the iPhone app allowed you to add multiple accounts. As it is, I have added my personal account only, and check the web for my other accounts.

  12. Currently, only a safety limit is shown. Having been conditioned by the do-more goals to think in terms of safe days, I would like a similar information for set-a-limit goals. Maybe take the safety buffer and divide it by the highest daily amount so far? Obviously this would only be an estimate, but seeing all goals in a single format helps grasping the information in a single glance.

  13. The Beeminder Android app is very well done, and I work almost exclusively with the phone app rather than the website for data entry. Once enhancement could be that along with reminder options to enter data via email or text message, is to include an option where the app itself triggers the reminder, including a message in the notification bar. Clicking the notification reminder would like to the Beeminder app (or better yet, the specific goal) for data entry.

  14. I want to get back to my thinner body. When I add data and see my updated graph, I would like the added boost of seeing a visual of what I'm working towards (an uploaded photo of a thin body that I am working to become.)

The image won't mess with my graph; it will only be visible next to my data history (the white box with lines that say 8 26 "comment", etc.), not on the graph itself.

This should be optional of course! But think about the endgame YOU'RE working towards (a fit body, smoke-free lungs, a finished…

  15. Possibility No. 1:

Friends will lose money when you derail, just like yourself (but not necessarily the same amount). This augments the deterrence and now your reputation is at stake.

    Possibility No. 2:

Friends / investors pay money up-front. They only get the money back if you reach your goal / do not derail.

Many other forms of this idea can be conceived of. I think trust- or investment-based incentives may well be the future of Beeminder.

  17. I find myself un-checking a lot of "contact me on Mon, Tue, ..." boxes for each new goal when I either will be entering data rarely (weekly) or feel that I will remember to enter my data without reminders.

It would be nice to allow an existing goal to be cloned, carrying over everything except the data points.

(URLs and names would need to be de-duped somehow.. e.g. the time-honored tradition of "Copy of $original_name".)

  19. This may be of use for a small percentage of users but seeing the pledged amount in the local currency it would be great for international users. Of course, one can make the conversion by head, but my intuition is that psychologically is easier just to see the right amount. And it's great for weaker currencies than the US Dollar, seeing 5 USD is not the same as seeing 25 ARS!

Again, this is only relevant for international users, so I don't think it's high priority.

  20. Please improve the performance of the website. Browsing, entering data and (especially) the regeneration of images all very sluggish or outright slow. It spoils a lot of the fun.
